Welcome to The Coffee Lounge at Local Epicentre
Local Epicentre is fast becoming a thriving coffee lounge offering excellent coffee and other luxury drinks, homemade cakes, light lunches and FREE WI-FI. As an extra treat we offer a mouth-watering choice of delicious Belgian chocolates.
‘We moved in to West Moors 3 months ago and have found Epicentre and their very friendly staff to have been invaluable. Being new to the area it acted as a focus for us to contact easily all those contractors and activity providers that we needed to settle in. We have continued to pop in at regular intervals and we don’t see that changing in the future. The coffee and cakes are great too! Many thanks to Sandra and all the Girls.’
The Epicentre in its ‘old form’ was always very welcoming. The newly -styled ‘The Coffee Lounge at Local Epicentre’ however is even more welcoming and a pleasure to visit. The added value comes in the range of seminars on offer. At no time does one feel under any pressure or obligation to take up their services and the relaxed surroundings all make for a pleasant atmosphere.....strong will power is required however to resist the other temptations! Cakes and Chocolates!!! An additional benefit is the free parking available close by.
The West Moors Epicentre is a place to find information on local recommended tradespeople. It is also a mine of advice on such things as Finances and Care Homes for the Elderly. Staff there are very friendly and provide excellent refreshments. We are all welcome there and the coffee is very good.
"The Coffee Lounge at Local Epicentre continues to be an excellent establishment for the community of West Moors and the surrounding areas. The 'not-for-profit' ethos ensures the focus is on the community that it serves, and this is reflected in the experience you have when enjoying a coffee, cake or lunch. I personally really enjoy dropping into The Coffee Lounge when I am in the local area, even if it's just to say hello!"
Local Epicentre was opened in 2012 and at first I thought it was just a coffee lounge. On a visit to have a coffee I was surprised to find that this was not the case. It was more a case of ‘Investing in the Community’ which means that local trades and businesses are recommended to local residents. The Coffee Lounge also holds FREE weekly ‘DROP-IN’ clinics with local Solicitors, Accountants, Financial Planners and a Care Home Company. I have had occasion to use the Financial Planner, Plumber, Decorator, Solicitor and Baker; all of whom have been great. So, a short distance from my home I have been able to enjoy excellent advice and services as well as a selection of hot drinks, sandwiches, cakes and chocolates that are just SO good to eat.
"I use the The Coffee Lounge at Local Epicentre on a regular basis. The food , drinks and choccies are lovely, the crew friendly and efficient . Their drop in advice clinics would be of great help to some locals. I find the free Internet access and a coffee a very good alternative to sitting at home working on my PC. The Epicentre is a very useful local establishment where you get to know people and they you, what a village environment should be, they deserve our support, I hope you may do this also”
Having recently moved into West Moors, we went to the Local Epicentre to get information about trustworthy tradesmen. We were greeted by very friendly, helpful staff who were able to recommend an electrician to do some outside electrical work for us. Having had the work done, we were very impressed by the standard of work and very competitive rates. We have also attended a seminar, run by the local solicitor, which we found extremely useful. The Epicentre will definitely be my first port of call for information in the future, saves hours of searching on the internet!
“The staff of my Local Epicentre are always warmly welcoming and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. The impartial, professional and courteous advice I received from Gary Neild, Managing Director of Blue Sky Financial Planning, was targeted specifically for me as an individual. This was very much appreciated and is rare these days”.
I’ve been told that I’m a typical bloke, fifty-nine going on sixty and still not made a will. A wife, two grown up children and three grandchildren. One day I pop in to the Local Epicentre to have a cup of coffee and buys some chocolates and realise that now is the time to sort this out. The staff point me towards a couple of suitable local solicitors and a few weeks later I have a will completed. None of which has eradicated my fear of death but at least I know that my family wouldn’t be left with the shambles that is the bottom draw of my desk. Many thanks Epicentre.”
